Tubular Medical Launched in Incubator
The Tubular Medica Project ("Method and device to clear secretions and infections from ventilation tubes in intensive care") has successfully launched its operations within Yozmot Haemek Technological Incubator. in early August 2010. Project founder is businessman and mechanical engineer Nir Barkai. Auxiliary funding of $100,000 was provided by a group of Israel and US-based investors. The project will be headed by Dr. Avital Regev Siman-Tov, PhD of medical sciences and MBA. Good luck!

WiseMed Medical Launched in Incubator
The WiseMed Medical Project ("innovative medical equipment for treating and preventing nightly teeth grinding") has successfully launched its operations within Yozmot Haemek Technological Incubator. in August 2010. The project was founded by Dr. Ayelet Rubinovitch Trop, MD, and businessman Toam Shemesh (BSc., MBA). Auxiliary funding of $100,000 was provided by a group of Israeli investors. The project will be headed by Keren Nir, MBA, who specializes in financing and marketing. Good luck!
Fertiligent has participated in the ESHRE
Fertiligent has participated in the ESHRE (European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology) conference that was held in the beginning of July in Rome. This was the first time that doctors and potential distributors had seen the product since it had received CE and FDA approval. The overall response was very positive and enthusiastic; doctors showed great interest in the new method and device and expressed their willingness to use it.

Barak Lefler Named to Yozmot Haemek Projects Committee
The Yozmot Haemek Technological Incubator Board of Directors has recently named Mr. Barak Lefler as a full-fledged member of its Projects Committee. An acting board member and chairman of various directorates in the Israeli industry sector, Lefler has vast, in-depth knowledge of funding and fundraising, as well as in the fields of strategizing and entrepreneurship, both in Israel and abroad. We wish him the best of luck in his new position with Yozmot Haemek.

Annual Technological Incubators Meeting Held at Jordan Valley College
Dr. Amnon Weichselbaum, project development director at Yozmot Haemek Technological Incubator, spoke at the Annual Technological Incubators and Entrepreneurs meeting held at the Jordan Valley College. The students were both engaged and enthused, and we hope the event, which has become a tradition, will continue on.

HemoScreen Ltd. raises additional capital
Congratulation to incubator-company HemoScreen Ltd. ("portable device for performance of Complete Blood Count tests"), which has recently raised 100,000US$ in additional capital, from a private investment group in Israel. The company's incubator activities (second year) are headed by its founder Dr. Avishay Bransky. Co-founder and Board Member Prof. Max Herzberg, heads the company's business development.

Road Map to Market Entry’s strategy documents – intended for 5 companies that took part in this year’s collaborative activity with the University of Michigan Ross School of Business – have arrived here at the Yozmot Ha’emek business incubation program. All of our companies operate in the field of medical apparatus and the documents will serve as a basis for updating business plans as well as the various options for international collaborations

Incubator Program Director visits Yozmot HaEmek
Mr. Yossi Smoler, Director of the Technological Incubators Program at the Chief Scientist Office, and his staff conducted their annual visit at Yozmot HaEmek Incubator on April 14, 2010. The visit that lasted some 5 hours included a discussion with the Incubator management, a tour at the projects operating in the incubator and finally a gathering of Smoler with all team members of the various projects (details in "News" section).

FERTILIGENT receives FDA approval
FERTILIGENT Ltd., graduate of the Yozmot HaEmek technological incubator, which developed a disposable pump for a controlled release of sperm, received during March 2010 the approval of the American Food and Drug Administration (FDA). This approval enables the company (that completed setting up a manufacture and assembly system for the product) to start marketing it in the USA.

A new project – Gili Medical – was launched
A new project - Gili Medical – was launched at the Incubator on April 6, 2010. The project team will develop diagnostic equipment for the location and identification of night sugar level drop in Diabetes Type 1 patients ("nocturnal hypoglycemia"). The entrepreneur & CEO of the project is Dr. Amir Schechter. A complementary investment of 400,000 NIS was raised from a well known strategic investment body in Israel. Best of luck.
